BHUTAN, also named as "Land of the Thunder Dragon" a small Buddhist nation at Eastern Himalayas. Known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains. Bhutanese were influenced by sacred Buddhist values, living in harmony by their religious values and respect their gods and deities.

Day 1
Bangkok / Paro - Thimphu

Fly from Bangkok to Paro

( Note: There is daily flight from Bangkok, you may fly from Singapore or some cities of India )
Upon arrival, greet at the airport and transfer to Thimphu is approximately 90 mins drive then have lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon drive head north up the Thimphu Valley stopping to view Trashi Chhoe Dzong, is a Buddhist monastery cum fortress at the northern edge of Thimpu the capital city of Bhutan. The Dzhong was built on the western bank of the river Wang Chu.  Then visit the Chagangkha Lhakhang Temple is a early medieval Buddhist temple in the capital city Thimphu, was constructed by Lama Phajo Drukgom Zhigpo in the 12 century AD. Lama Phajo Drukgom Zhigpo is also the founder of the Drukpa Kaygo School of Buddhism. Check in at hotel, have dinner and overnight.  (3/4 stars Local Hotel)

Day 2
Thimphu - Punakha

Breakfast at hotel and drive early over the pass of Dochu La via Wangdue to Punakha which is the former capital of Bhutan. Dochula pass is a popular location among tourists as it offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Himalayan mountain range. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. Have a walk around the Chortens to enjoy the breathtaking view of Himalayas if the day is clear. Lunch provided.
This afternoon visit the Chimi Lhakang is a Bhuddhist monastery located in the Punakha District of Bhutan. The monastery stands on a small hill close to the village of Lobesa and was constructed in 1499 by Ngawang Choegyel, The Temple can be accessed by undertaking a short 30 minute hike across the rice fields from the nearest road head. Then check in at Meri Puensum Resort. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (3/4 stars Local Hotel)

Day 3
Gantey - Day trip ( 5 hrs drive )

Today’s onward journey begins on the highway follows the scenic Dang Chhu before climbing thru forests of bamboo and oak, and just before crossing the Pele La pass, a small side road splinters off to the hidden Phobjika Valley. On arrival visit the Gangtay Goemba – this monastery is important as it is the only Nyingmapa school of Buddhism. Situated in the picturesque Phobjikha Valley, which is also renowned for being the winter home of the rare Tibetan Black Necked Cranes. The monastery was established in 1613 by Peling Gyalse Rinpoche, the grandson of Trenton Pema Lingpa the great treasurer discoverer.
Afternoon drive to The Choekhor Valley is covered with fields of buckwheat, millet and potato, with apple orchards climbing up the slopes to mix with the deep pine forest. Then drive back to Punakha, dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 4
Punakha - Soft Hike (2-3 hrs)

This morning take a short hike around 3 hrs to visit Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten through a trail from the village, the unique temple is situated up on the mountain. It is a splendid example of Bhutan’s fine architectural and artistic traditions and the only one of its kind in the world. Walk down through the trail and enjoy the valley view of Punakha.
Afternoon visit to the Punakha Dzong the second largest & oldest Dzong in Bhutan (UNESCO tentative site), is located at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and the Po Chhu River, combine to form the Puna Tsang Chu which in turn is a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The Dzhong was constructed by Sahbdrung Ngwang Namgyal Wangchuck in 1638 on the exact spot as prophesized by the Guru Rinpoche some 800 years ago. Meals provided and overnight at hotel.

Day 5
Punakha - Thimphu - Paro

After breakfast at hotel. Drive to Thimphu and Then visit the King's Memorial Chorten was built by Bhutan's third king, H.M in 1952. Also, visit the Drubthob Gonpa/Zilukha Nunnery once belonged to the Drubthob (Realized one) Thang Thong Gyalpo often referred to as The King of the opn field. The National Library (which houses ancient manuscripts) and has the biggest book in the world, and visit the National Institute of Traditional Medicine. is a training centre for medical practitioners. Herbal medicines are prepared and dispensed here. Then drive to Paro, lunch & dinner provided and overnight at hotel. (3/4 stars Local Hotel)

Day 6
Paro

Afternoon visit to the The National Museum of Bhutan - Paro Dzong (UNESCO tentative site) is housed inside the six storied circular Ta Dzong is a medieval watch tower situated above the Rimpung Dzong. The Museum houses a priceless collection of textile, costumes, paintings, appliqué, wooden handicrafts, weapons, armour and jewellery.
Then visit the Rinpung Dzong is built on a steep hill along the banks of the Paro Chu River. The front part of the Dzong is home to the District administration while the other courtyard towards the rare houses the district monk body. Continue to visit the Kyichu Lhakhang Temple. The Jowo Temple of Kyichu is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, originally built in the 7th century by the Tibetan Emperor. Lunch & dinner provided and overnight at hotel. 

Day 7
Paro – Takshang Monastery (Alt.3100m) ( 3 – 4 hrs Hike )

Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to hike up to view one of Bhutan’s most revered monuments, the Taktshang Monastery, also named as “Tiger’s Nest”. It is a monument of genuine pride for the Bhutanese nation. It defies architectural principles to the core and amazes tourists from around the world.
Afternoon visit to a local farm house to experience the local life and enjoy tea together.
Back to hotel, free and overnight.

Day 8
Departure Paro / Bangkok

After breakfast, transfer to airport for your departure flight to Bangkok.
