Day 1
Xining - Arrival

On arrival, greet and transfer to check in at hotel ( 4 stars ) and overnight.

Day 2
Xining – Qinghai Lake (Alt.3200m) - Lhasa by Train

Breakfast at hotel. Check out and transfer to visit Qinghai Lake, the largest saline lake and inland lake in China. It has 105 kilometers long, 63 kilometers wide and 3196 meters above sea level. There are twenty-three rivers and streams empty into Qinghai Lake, most of them seasonal. At the tip of the peninsula on the western side of the lake is the Bird Islands. Every May and June, the best time of bird watching, migratory birds fly fromfaraway mountains and deserts to breed here. ( can stay extra day for bird watching ).
Lunch provided at local restaurant then transfer to train station.
Note: can have an early dinner at local restaurant
Evening board on overnight train to Lhasa - sleeping soft berth. Overnight on board.
The Qinghai–Tibet railway, is a high-elevation railway that connects Qinghai Province and Tibet Autonomous Region of China with a total length of 1956 kms.

Day 3
Lhasa - arrival (Alt. 3680m)

Train towards to Lhasa via Germud -Tuotuo River - Amdo - Nagqku - Damxung to Lhasa.
Enjoy the spectacular mountain views and Qinghai Plateau scenery on route and to acclimatize the high altitude. Meals on guest own account.
17:05 Upon arrival at Lhasa Train station. Greet at the train station and transfer to check in at 3/4 stars hotel, the rest of day free to acclimatized… and overnight.

Day 4
Lhasa

Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit to the Drepung Monastery which was built in 1416 and is the largest monasteries of the Gelug Sect. It covers an area of 250,000 square meters. The monastery has trained a large group of talents for Tibetan Buddhism. The 15th Dalai Lama lived here before he moved to the Potala Palace. It houses plenty of historical and cultural relics and Buddhist classics. Sera Monastery – located at foot of the Wuze Hill in Sera to the north of Lhasa, the Sera Monastery is one of the three great monasteries in Lhasa and one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug Sect of Buddhism in Tibet. It was built by one of disciples of Zonggaba in 1419. Norbulingka is a palace and surrounding park in Lhasa,served as the traditional summer residence for Dalai Lamas, was built in the 1740s and covers an area of 36 hectares, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back to hotel and overnight at Hotel.

Day 5
Lhase

Breakfast at hotel, visit Potala Palace a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the palace of the Dalai Lama. It was originally built in the 7th century by King Songtsan Gampo and rebuilt to the present size by the 5th Dalai Lana in the 17th century. Its 13-story main building is 117 meters high and is composed of the Red and White Palaces, with the red one in themiddle. The main building consists of the Halls of stupas of Dalai Lamas from various historical stages and halls of Buddhist statues.
Then visit the Jokhang Monastery another UNESCO World Heritage Site- located in the center of the ancient city of Lhasa, was built in 7th century by Songtsan Gambo, the Tang Princess WenCheng and Nepalese Princess Bhrikuti. Then stroll around the Barkhor - this area bursts with atmosphere and contradictions. On the one hand, this is one of the
holiest areas of Tibet, awash with pilgrims, monks, nuns and temples. On the other, the streets around here are the hubs of Lhasa's commercial zone. Back to hotel, free and overnight at Hotel. 

Day 6
Lhasa – Yamdrok - Gyantse (Alt. 4040m) – Shigatse (Alt. 3800m) 450 kms ( 6-7hrs drive)

Breakfast at hotel, check out. Morning drive towards the southern route along Lake Yamdrok an amazingly turquoise blue lake, sacred for all Tibetans. Cross two high passes, the Khamba La at 4794 metres and the Karo La at 5010 metres. Enjoy spectacular view by the lakeside and take some pictures. Lunch provided on route. Then continue drive to Gyantse – a small town visit to the Palkor Choden and its surrounding Monastery. Then continue to drive to Shigatse - which is the second largest town in Tibet. Check in at hotel ( 3 stars ), free and overnight.

Day 7
Shigatse – Mt Everest National Park (Alt. 4980m) 390kms (6 hrs drive)

Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit the Tashilumpo Monastery which is located at Myima Mountain at the west of Shigatse. One of the four leading monasteries in Guleg Sect ( Yellow ) of Panchen Lama, the other three are Gandan, Sera and Drepung Monasteries. Then commence to drive through the road of "Friendship highway" connected with Tibet and Nepal by land. Today will be a long drive towards to the mighty of Himalayan range and enjoy the spectacular mountain view on route. Visit the Rongbok Monastery. Overnight at guesthouse near the Base Camp.

Day 8
Mt Everest Base Camp – Shigatse (Alt. 5200m) 420kms (7/8 hrs drive)

This will be a long and exciting day.

Pre-dawn, wake up and transfer to Mt Everest Base Camp (Alt.5200m) to enjoy the stunning sunrise view of Mt Everest if the weather is good and walking around the area.
Breakfast on own account. Than drive to Latse and visit Sakya Monastery located by the two banks of the Drongchu River, on the ridge of the Bonbo mountain - filled of many classical books, relics and precious mural paintings. It comprises the southern and northern monasteries. The northern monastery was built in 1079 and the southern in 1268. There are large collections of historical cultural objects stored in the monastery. Continue drive toShigatse and overnight at Hotel (3 stars).

Day 9
Shigatse – Lhasa ( 235kms - 5 hrs drive )

After breakfast at hotel, morning visit the local market. Then drive back to Lhasa on the most convenient and asphalted road along Tsangpo river will take five hours. Visit the Dolma Lhakang Monastery on the way. Arrive in Lhasa late afternoon, check in at (3/4 Stars), free and overnight.

DAY 10
Departure

Breakfast at hotel, check out.
Pick up at hotel and transfer to airport for your departure flight to Hongkong or back to your country.
