Yunnan is a province in southwestern China with a varied landscape encompassing snow-capped mountains, rice terraces, lakes and deep gorges. The region is known for its most ethnically diverse, home to the 25 ethnic groups of the country.

Day 1
Lijiang - Arrival

On arrival, greet at the airport and transfer to check in at hotel. Free or have a walk to the old town. Overnight at hotel. 
LIJIANG gathering place of rugged mountain people with the Naxi forming the majority, a small mountain town of stone and tile, laced with swift canals, and its old town listed as UNESCO sites in 1997.

Day 2
Lijiang - Shaxi

Breakfast at hotel.
Drive of around 2.5 hours to Shaxi.
On arrival, have around 2 hrs biking tour in the old town to see the local houses and visit the Sideng Village.
Sideng village, residing in the immediate neighborhood of Shibaoshan and under the jurisdiction of Shaxi Township, was a prosperous town on the old South China Silk Road that connects China with South Asia, Southeast Asia and West Asia. Traditional Bai houses line up to form the village a chessboard. The century-old Xingjiao Buddhist Temple and wooden theatre worth a visit too. Sideng village was enlisted as one of the 101 World Monumental Constructions in late 2001 by World Monumental Construction Fund.

Day 3
Shaxi – Lijiang

Breakfast at hotel.
Drive of 30 minutes to the Shibaoshan Mountains (also known as Stone Treasure Mountains). Visit the Baoxiang Temple that is built along a sheer cliff, and the Stone Bell Temple.
SHIBAOSHAN is hidden in a remote mountain region in Jianchuang County. Apart from fine depictions of Buddhist deities and disciples, the grottoes at Stone Bell Temple are outstanding for their presentation of life under the Nanzhao Kingdom (748-902).
Lunch provided at local restaurant. Then drive back to Lijiang and have sometimes to stroll around the Old Town of Lijiang. Dinner on your own account, back to hotel and overnight.
Old town of Lijiang is a big area with its center, or Si Fang Jie (Square Street) in the form of an official ink stone, hence its name Dayan (ink stone) Town. It enjoys a long history of over 800 years. 

Day 4
Lijiang

Breakfast at hotel.
In the morning, visit the Naxi minority Baisha.
There are  Liulidian Temple and Daobaoji Temple at Baisha village, housing 558 mural paintings on 12 walls that date back to the Ming Dynasty in 1385. Buddhism, Taoism and Lamaism manifest in integration in styles of the Han Chinese, the Tibetan, the Bai and the Naxi people on the murals, a proof of exchange on politics, economy, culture and religion between the mainland and the frontiers of China.
Enjoy the cultural show "Impression Lijiang" by noon.
Then drive out to visit the Yak Meadow of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains. Take chairlift (roundtrip) ride up with superb views over the mountains and valleys. Good weather permitting, you will be able to see the much-famed snow-clad thirteen peaks.
Visit also to the Black Dragon Pond with the Wufeng Temple (Five Phoenix Pavilion) and Dongba Culture Museum. The Pond provides you opportunity of taking great pictures of the crystal clear pond with backdrop of snow mountains in a distance. Lunch provided at local restaurant. Dinner on your own account. Back to hotel and overnight.

Day 5
Lijiang – Shangri-la ( Alt. 3160m)

Breakfast at at hotel.
Today, overland drive of 4.5 hours, to Zhongdian.
En route, we will take stops to visit the First Bend of the Yangzi River and the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
The village of Stone Drum stands at the First Bend of the Yangzi River, some 70 kilometers west of Lijiang. Approaching to Stone Drum offers a dramatic view of the Yangzi's near-180-degree turn, where the wide, swift waters perform a miraculous about-face. The Tiger Leaping Gorge is the Yangzi's best-known gorge after the Three Gorges in Sichuan and Hubei - UNESCO Listed site. Wedged tightly between titanic cliffs, the river is so narrow here, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains and the Haba Snow Mountains lean close to each other and a large volume of torrent moving between them cutting deeper and deeper into the bottom of the gorge.

Zhongdian (Also named as Shangri-la or Gyalthang in Tibetan ) lies in a landscape of rolling hills, snow-capped peaks, virgin forests of spruce, pine and meadow dotted with wild flowers and tranquil lakes. The old town, still entirely in local Tibetan style, is in the south of Zhongdian.

Day 6
Pu Da Cuo National Park

Breakfast at hotel.
Today, take an excursion to visit the Pu Da Cuo National Park, which is composed of Bita Lake and Shudu Lake. You may walk long the wooden plank way about 7 kilometers in the park to enjoy the scenery of both alpine lakes. Bita Lake is a plateau lake that provide ideal habitat for birds and animals. Rhododendrons are so plentiful in the lake area that in April and May, the Lake is surrounded by flowers in colors of red, pink, white and purple. Shudu, or where milk gathers in Tibetan, is one of the biggest plateau lakes in Zhongdian.. The Lake is surrounded with deep primeval forests of fir and dragon spruce. The natural grassland around the Lake is the best pasture in Zhongdian. At the turn of spring and summer, may have pastoral scenes of the Lake with herds of sheep and cattle. Lunch provided at local restaurant. Dinner on your own account. Back to hotel and overnight.

Day 7
Shangri-la

Breakfast at hotel.
In the morning, visit the Ganden Songzanglin Monastery or Ganden Sumtseling Monastery also named as "Lesser Potala",which was built according to the complex of Potala Palace in Lhasa.
It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan Province which belongs to Yellow Hat Sect of Gelug. It is also the most important monastery in southwest China.
Lunch provided at local restaurant. Afternoon stroll around the old town which was re-built after the fire in 2014.
Dinner on your own account. Back to hotel and overnight.

Day 8
Free

Breakfast at hotel. Day free to explore the town on your own.  Overnight at hotel. 

DAY 9
Departure

Breakfast at hotel.  Free until transfer to airport.

Fly back to Hongkong or your country.
