Enjoy 3 days train journey to Durban by Rovos – one of the luxury train in South Africa and have game drive on route. Depart Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria. Lunch is served as the Drakensberg Mountains come into view. In the afternoon the train climbs to Majuba Hill (2146m/7040ft). Dinner is served en route to Elandslaagte for overnight stop.

06h00 Wake-up call. Tea, coffee, juices and pastries in the dining car/s before embarking on a game drive in the Nambiti Private Game Reserve. Return to the train for brunch at 11h00 and head for Estcourt.
14h00 Disembark for a 40-minute drive to Spionkop Lodge where a choice of two excursions is available: an escorted tour of the battlefields or a game drive in the Spionkop Game Reserve. Return to the train for dinner.
Breakfast is served as the train descends the escarpment en route to Lions River Station.
10h00 Visit the famous Ardmore Ceramics Gallery including an equestrian display and tea.
12h00 Depart for Durban. The train traverses the spectacular Valley of a Thousand Hills.
16h00 Arrive at journey’s end in Durban.

The day is spent exploring one the world's most beautiful cities. Table Mountain, arguably the most famous natural landmark in Africa, is first on the agenda. From Table Mountain one of the most impressive views in the world may be enjoyed - the Indian Ocean and the deep blue waters of the Atlantic, and the Cape Peninsula as it sinks away to the south allowing these two great oceans to meet at Cape Point.
Also visit the world-famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, which had its inception when the mining magnate and philanthropist Cecil Rhodes donated the land to the people of South Africa. The garden is home to 4000 of the 18000 species of flora found in the country and creates a most remarkable display. The gardens are a memorial to one of Africa's greatest son’s, and from where sweeping views of the entire Cape Flats may be enjoyed where we end an unforgettable day. The little African Penguins at Boulders Beach are world famous and even featured on Animal Planet in a regular documentary. Here they go about their daily affairs, blissfully unruffled by the many human eyes observing their every move. Similarly the Chacma Baboons will keep a close eye on you as you visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and make your way to the lighthouse where panoramic ocean views may be enjoyed. Chapman’s Peak traces the steep west coast mountainside as it snakes its way back to the city of Cape Town. Watch out for the bronze leopard as it keeps an ever watchful eye over Hout Bay, a memorial to the many animals that once inhabited the mountains dominating the Cape Peninsula.

The Two Oceans Aquarium on the V&A Waterfront showcases the incredible diversity of marine life found in the Indian and Atlantic oceans. With over 3000 living sea animals, including sharks, fish, turtles and penguins, guests will experience one of the finest marine life collections in the world. Some time devoted to exploring the V&A waterfront and time for dinner. Overnight at hotel.
