Dubai / Sharjah / Dubai - Departure
Day 5
0 Day

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. This morning, enjoy a half-day Heritage Tour to Sharjah City.

The Emirate of Sharjah, neighboring Dubai, was voted the cultural capital of the Arab world in 1,998 - A tribute to the city’s rich Islamic heritage.

We start our tour in front of the Sharjah ruler’s palace and drive past the Al Hisn Fort built around 1,820. It was the traditional residence of the ruling family. A short walk will then take us to the Heritage Village or souq, which in the early days was the Central Market. Today, you can walk through this beautiful, restored souq with its narrow alleys and buy old wooden dhows, dates and tobacco leaves.

Opposite the souq we visit the old Al Naboodah House, an example of exquisite Arabic architecture.

Our tour then takes us to the vegetable and fruit market, the fish market, and the photo stop at the King Fsaisal mosque with its Islamic center and the lagoon with its beautiful parks.

Our excursion would not be complete without a visit to the famous Blue Souq with 600 shops. Here you can shop for gold, carpets, antiques, perfumes and electronic items.

Return to Dubai in the afternoon, and experience a variety of sights and scents of the Orient in a cosmopolitan setting. A true introduction to the Arabian Gulf.

The tour takes us to a variety of interesting attractions: We bring you close to the Burj Al Arab where you can take pictures of the world famous hotel. From there we drive to the Jumeirah Mosque - A magnificent example of modern Islamic architecture. We drive part of the city with its tall wind towers which served as air-conditioners in bygone days.

The journey through the city center covers popular landmarks like the Dubai Museum, housed in the 18th century AL Fahidi Fort. The museum features realistic displays, with sound effects, depicting various scenes, which provide a fascinating glimpse of the historical links of the city with trading and pearl diving. Enroute we pass by the ancient, beautifully restored house of Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum, built in a commanding position near the mount of the Creek at Shingdagha.

We then enjoy a ride across the famed Dubai Creek in local water taxi called “abra” to see the bustling activities on the waterfront and move to the Deira side of Dubai. This is followed by a visit to the aromatic spice souq and the extensive gold souq where you can buy exquisite gold jewelry at prices than anywhere else in the world.

After dinner on your own account, transfer to Dubai International airport for your departure flight.
