Today, you will enjoy a full day tour to Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It is situated on a small peninsula surrounded by a cluster of islands. The city was founded in 1,761 by the nomadic Bani Yas tribe by a Sheikh ( Chieftain ) of the tribe.
We visit the Heritage Village which provides a taste of life before the oil area. We drive past the “Emirates Palace”, an enchanting landmark that’s a wonder to behold for all who venture through its magnificent gates. The world famous hotel boasts of 302 Grand rooms and 92 magnificent suites, each combining the ultimate in luxury with state of the art technology.
Our next stop will be at the impressive heritage site of Qasr Al Hosn, built in 1,793 as the official residence of the rulers of Abu Dhabi. Adjacent is the Cultural Foundation, a home to the National Library, an auditorium, exhibition halls and a cinema. The Foundation is a hub of Abu Dhabi’s cultural life, staging concerts, plays, lectures and a variety of other events.
On our way back to Dubai we drive past the “Grand Mosque”, officially known as Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque. When completed, it will be clad in marble and gold, and is designed to accommodate more than 30,000 worshippers. It will be the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates.
