From the Acropolis to Omonia Square, you'll see with this full day trip all the famous sites of ancient and modern Athens. Departs for a photo stop at Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. Proceed, passing by Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus. You will then drive past the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library.
Continue passing by National Garden, Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown soldier, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), Catholic Cathedral, Old Parliament, Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church, and finally ACROPOLIS.
Continue the expert-guided Athens sightseeing and Acropolis museum one day tour with a pleasant short walk passing by Herodion and Dionysos Theater, in order to visit the ACROPOLIS museum. Avoid and skip the lines of the new museum. Main attractions such as votives, statues from archaic period, Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon hall with the metopes, the pediments and the frieze will impress you. After a morning tour full of images continue in a local restaurant under the slopes of Acropolis for lunch.
After lunch depart for a wonderful drive along the scenic coastal road which affords a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf, passing through some of Athens most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) to CAPE SOUNION. Cape Sounion is only 45 miles (70 kilometers) from Athens, making it the perfect lazy afternoon tour destination. The Cape's Temple of Poseidon is perched on a rocky hilltop overlooking the sea. The view across the Aegean is magnificent with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the world, extending all the way to Kea and the Peloponnese on a clear day. The Temple of Poseidon was built in 44 B.C., and many of its original Doric columns are still standing. One of the columns has a graffiti left by none other than Lord Byron in the early 1800s. The precipice is a sheer 197-foot drop to the sea.

Famed for the uncanny accuracy of the Sibyl, a fortune-telling priestess, Delphi’s fame grew and attracted travelers seeking their fortunes from all over the ancient world. From Athens we’ll cross the fertile plain of Boeotia to the slopes of Mount Parnassus to explore the ruins of Delphi and get a sense of the remarkable power this mystical site still exerts today.
Visit the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, and learn the story of this brave god’s triumph over the dragon that guarded the omphalos. This mysterious ‘navel stone’ marked the very centre of the world and gave the Sibyl her powers by making her the voice of Apollo. Visit the marble Treasury of the Athenians, built to store the rich offerings of grateful kings. See the stadium where the ancient Pythian Games, precursors to our modern Olympics, were lost or won. Visit the temple of Apollo, where the eternal flame burned in the gloom. Then explore the on-site museums where you can see the omphalos stone itself as well as masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture such as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias.
Enjoy a delicious traditional local lunch in the modern village of Delphi before passing through the ancient town of Thebes, to discover the story of tragic King Oedipus, whose terrible fate was foreseen by the oracle. Before heading back, marvel at the fascinating mountainous landscapes and the beautiful cities of Livadeia and Arachova, where there will be a short break before returning to Athens.
In ancient times it was the site of the most important oracle of the god Apollo. Delphi was revered throughout the Greek world as the site of the Omphalos stone, the center of the universe. In the inner hestia, or hearth, of the Temple of Delphic Apollo, an Eternal flame burned. After the battle of Plataea, the Greek cities extinguished their fires and brought new fire from the hearth of Greece, at Delphi; in the foundation stories of several Greek colonies, the founding colonists were first dedicated at Delphi, Visit to the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios and Treasury of Athenians in Delphi.

Catch the train of 8:27a.m. to Kalambaka in the morning from the Athens Railway Station and enjoy a trip that will give you the chance to admire the beauty of the countryside.
Arrive around 13:30 p.m. in Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks, and crowded by the METEORA Monasteries.
Arriving in Kalambaka, our English speaking driver will be waiting you holding a signboard with your name on it and will transfer you to the Meteora Monasteries. For three hours you will have the time to explore at least two or three Monasteries. Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument list. At the end of the day, our driver will transfer you back to Kalambaka, where you will have the time to scroll around and have a light lunch (on guest own account).
At 17:22 p.m. the train departs from Kalambaka, and arrives at 22:15 back to Athens.

Santorini Island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast of Greece's mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago, which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera. It forms the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands
